    RELATIONSHIPS

Spicing It Up
in the Bedroom
BY MELANIE VOTAW
You come home from work, make dinner, help the kids with their homework, finally get them to bed, and the last thing you have the energy for is sex, right? If your answer to this question is yes, you’re not alone. Juggling work and children takes a toll on everyone, and sex often ends up taking a back seat to pretty much everything else.
While your children must always come first, you simply cannot allow yourself to fall into the trap of neglecting yourself and your spouse. You have to find time for each other, or the intimacy you once shared will dissolve. Does it sound exhausting? It doesn’t have to be. Just a little bit of effort will go a long way.
But the “wham bam, thank you, ma’am” experience doesn’t work either – not even for the male party in the relationship. You simply must schedule in some quality time with each other, even if it’s only once a month. (But it needs to be at least once a month, and preferably more often for both your sakes!) It will give you something to look forward to, and while it’s not as often as anyone would prefer, it’s better than going months or even years without sex (or at least satisfying sex.)
